The environment and safety at work.

quimiCer regards respect for the environment and safety in the workplace as fundamental aspects of our business.. These are on- going tasks which are subject to a process of continuous improvement.
quimiCercurrently holds the certificates of Environmental Management Systems and Occupational Health and Safety based on ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

The Environmental Management System certificate consolidated the process of differentiation already started by the company, based on respect for the environment and continual improvement of our area of action by promoting selective waste management, minimising the waste we generate, reducing emissions, improving the energy efficiency of our installations, promoting clean technologies and making use of wastewater.
Current manufacturing processes require that our employees and suppliers show the utmost respect for the environment during their work in order to offer our clients guaranteed quality and service.

quimiCer has established a risk prevention management system aimed at minimising risks to our employees, suppliers and other interested parties. It is also focused on the implementation of a process of continuous improvement that actively recommends and plans improvements, integrating them into our business activities, verifies their effectiveness, and reviews their performance over time.

Aspects such as minimising risks, the control and monitoring of legal requirements, defining targets and goals, ongoing training, observation and monitoring of all our operations, emergency preparedness, encouraging safety-conscious behaviour, staff participation in risk prevention tasks, auditing processes and corrective action planning , gives quimiCer comprehensive control over preventative action and an effective instrument to improve product quality as well as the wellbeing, safety and job satisfaction of our workforce.

Although quimiCer is a young company, its commitment to the environment and health and safety at work started right from the beginning, far beyond fashionable thinking, and still very aware that much remains to be done. The aim of quimiCer, therefore, is to continue working on the improvement of environmental and social performance, seeking greater efficiency in the consumption of natural resources (raw materials, energy and water) and the maximum reduction of its impact on the environment ( waste generation, emission of gases and waste disposal).
quimiCer has the conviction that environmental aspects are a strategic factor of sustainable development, as they help to preserve natural resources for future generations. We also want to further enhance a culture of corporate responsibility as the correct route to professional, human and social excellence .

QUALITY

QUALITY
quimiCer quality that differentiates.

Our model of quality according to the standard ISO 9001, and certified by SGS since 2006, is based on an internal analysis of factors such as leadership, human resources, policy and strategy; it promotes partnerships and evaluates resources, processes and their effect on key results of business activity, as well as on clients, society and the people who make the organization.

During the internal analysis, we take into consideration strengths, areas for improvement, parameters involved, the best ideas and proposals and how to apply them in all areas and process of organization etc. In this way , we are able to conduct a regular, objective, comparable and systematic self -assessment, quimiCer´s activities and results.

The process allows us to identify our strengths as well as areas for improvement, resulting in planned improvement projects and monitoring and following up the process carried out. Once again, this is for the sole purpose of establishing a dynamic of continuous improvement to ensure the satisfaction of our partners, clients and suppliers.
Subsequently, quimiCer has succeeded in differentiating itself from other companies the sector: Research, Manufacturing and Marketing of Ceramic Frits, Colours and Glazes. This differentiation is based on an organizational model whose objective is to achieve the highest degree of customer satisfaction, and establish a network of quality partnerships that ensure sustainable, profitable growth for all.

For quimiCer, being a sustainable company means combining economic success with social responsibility and protecting the environment.

SUSCHEM-ES SPANISH TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR SUSTAINABLE CHEMISTRY

“Creating safe and long-life objects and materials. Not burdening the new generations with the responsibility of dealing with the maintenance or administrative vigilance of the potential dangers caused by an irresponsible production". Principle 5 of 10: "The Hannover Principles Design for Sustainability", by William McDonough & Michael Braungart.

quimiCer is a member of the Spanish Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem - ES). SusChem-ES is fostered by the Spanish Chemical Industry (FEIQUE) and its partners: the Spanish Association of Bio enterprises (ASEBIO), the Spanish Federation of Innovation & Technology Organizations (FEDIT), the Network of University Technology Transfer Offices (Red OTRI de Universidades) and Tecnalia. The Platform is supported by: the Spanish Ministry of Science & Innovation and the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI). In the same line as our equivalent in Europe (SUSCHEM), our long-term aim is to boost Spain competitiveness in this sector, by promoting and implementing innovative and strategic global actions, having the support of both the industry and the authorities.

Statement by the Chemistry Industry, presented by FEIQUE.
The history of Man and his development are intrinsically linked to the progress of scientific and technological knowledge. Science has been the tool that has enabled Man to achieve greater life expectancy and quality of life over the years.
Of all the sciences, it has been Chemistry, with the fundamental and necessary support of Physics, Biology and other areas of knowledge, which has made the greatest contribution to providing solutions for the needs of mankind.
Despite the important role that Chemistry has already played in the past, its role will be even more important in tackling the challenges that face Humanity now and in the future.
How are we to feed the more than 9,000 million people who will inhabit the Earth in 2050? How will we eradicate existing diseases and those we do not yet know about? In short, how will each and every man and woman who inhabits this planet achieve a decent standard and quality of life?
There is no doubt that Chemistry, through its scientists, researchers, trainers, teachers, entrepreneurs and workers, will provide the answers to these and other questions; solutions which will only be feasible if we establish the necessary channels of collaboration between all of them, supported by our society and its authorities and competent organizations.
For this reason, we are hereby stating that:

»
There is a need to raise society’s awareness of the essential role that science in general and chemistry in particular play in guaranteeing and improving our quality of life and the wellbeing of our citizens.
»
Governments, legislative bodies and public administrations need to foster and promote excellence in scientific education, research, development and technological innovation, as well as disseminating objective, accurate information on chemical science and its applications.
»
We need to recognise, value and support the fundamental contribution of scientists who research and develop the products and applications that give rise to continuous improvements to people’s quality of life and wellbeing.
»
We need to recognise, value and support the fundamental work of teachers in the scientific education of young people from the earliest years of their schooling through to the most specialised education.
»
We need to recognise, value and support the companies in the chemistry sector and their professionals and employees, as these are the people who, at the end of the day, generate the products and economic and social benefits that people need.
»
There is a need for the chemistry sector and its industrial development to continue being regarded as a priority in the Commitment to Progress, along with health protection, safety and the environment and the rational and sustainable use of natural resources.
